Introduction

Decide what Universe your character will live in and what role they will play. You should ask yourself what your characters Species is.

Eg. Sonic Universe, main role (hero)

So you need to decide your characters Age and Gender first. You could also decide their Name and build their personality around it, or play with their personality and choose a name that fits at the end.

17, Female

Their age and gender should give you a rough idea of their size.

Now it's time to work on their personality~

Are they nice, happy, jolly? Or depressed, sad and lonely? Dark or even Evil? Pure and innocent?

You could try and answer these questions about them~

Does your character act their age?
                        their Gender?

Is there good and evil in your universe?
    Is your character on the side of good or evil?

If your character went/goes to school, what subjects do they take?

Is your character smart or a little dim-witted?

Would your character kill?

Does your character have a sense of humour?

Is your character likely to fight against something they don't like?
                                                          Are they shy?        

Which of the following apply to your character:

Nice
Mean
Shy
Proud
Social
Caring
Unfeeling
Rude
Polite
Focused
Friendly
Faithful
Respectful
Vain
Kind
Sensitive
Adventourious

Terry is shy, clumsy, but she cares for her friends deeply. Her greatest power is flight (She is not very strong).

Now you have a general idea about your character's personality, we can begin to build up their appearance. Any new things you think of for the personality section jot down.

How does your character stand? Do they slump, or are ridged?
                                             How do they walk?
                                             Do they have a pose they use often?

Is your character some sort of mythical being?
                                A dragon? Merperson? Zombie or Vampire?
                                How does this affect how they look?
                                How does this affect 'day to day life'?

What colour is your characters;
Skin? How about something different? Blue?
Eyes? Purple? No pupils? Do they wear glasses?
Hair? Do they wear a hat? Are there two colours?

Does your character have any disabilities?
                                 Any scars?
                                 How did they get them?
                                 Are they dead?

How long is your characters hair?
                     Do they have a fringe?
                     Curly? Straight? Dyed?  
                     Can they style it?
                     Tie it up? Bunches?
                     Put it in brades? Plaits? Ribbon?

How would you describe your characters fashion sense?
                                     Do they care what they wear?
                                     Are they an outsider when it comes to clothing?
                                     

Does your character have a signature outfit?
                               Are they wearing it all the time?
                               How many different outfits do they have?
                               Are they always changing their look?

Does your character have moosash or beard?

Terry is a Vampire, that you can tell when she smiles. This means she can't wear crosses or go near garlic, but she is immune to sunlight and running water, and can see her reflection. She is not dead.
Terry's signature outfit consists of a black skirt and red top, with many accessories. She usually has her hair up in two bunches.

Okies you should now have a pretty decent idea about your characters Personality and appearance. You could start thinking up names now.

Righty-o lets move on to Interaction. How your character interacts with others is very important. You can build up your characters persona as nice and quiet all you like, but if there are a biatch to
everyone around them something isn't right.

How does your character talk to their friends?
                                  Their family?
                                  Their partner?
                                  Their enemies?
                                  Does this match their persona? (If No, unless there is a good reason, go back and tweak something)

Is your character popular?
                       Why?    

Does your character have any pets?
                        Is it some kinda of mythical creature?
                        Is it cute? Fierce?

How does your character treat their enemies?
                                 Are they prepared to fight?
                                 
How much would your character do for their friends?
           Are they the type of person to forget something like a Birthday?

Is your character in a relationship?
                        Are they Married?
                        Do they have children?
                        Are they divorced?

What family members does your character have?
      Not Original: Bad ideaAre their parents dead?
         Does your characters family have a hidden secret?
         What kind of things has your character inherited from their family?

Alrighty, now that your characters relationships are all in order it's time to move onto Skills. How's that name thinking going btw?

Does your character have any special talents?
                                      

Can your character fly?
          If your character has wings what do they look like?
          Are they an Angel?

Does your character have Magical powers?
                  Through their inheritance?
                  Through a weapon of some sort?
                              A staff? A wand?
                        For no reason at all?
               Is your character a witch or wizard?
       
Which of the following powers apply to your character (if any):

Teleportation
Telepathy
Prophecy
Healing
Animal communication
Shape shifting abilities
Invisibility
The ability to pass through matter
General magic or sorcery
Time travel
Summoning
Super strength or speed

Can your character sing?
            Can they play an instrument?
               Is it something exotic like a harp?

What is your characters IQ?
        Is your character exceedingly clever?
                          Or very stupid?

Is your character skilled with Vehicles?
                 Do they own a Racing/hover board?
                 Do they own a motorcycle?

Terry's skills include Flight, changing her eye colour, and weak teleportation and healing powers.

These are just a few idea's you could use to make a brand new character. I hope this has been of some help to you~
Oh, there's just one more thing you can do, write a short paragraph about your character's History & Modern Life. By history I mean what happened to them in the past, their family history, their still loved and lost friends. By Modern life I mean what they are up to right now.

*If you're stuck for inspiration, look at the people around you

*You'll seem big headed if your character is always the centre of attention/has no enemies
